In the Netherlands, Masterveil once again delivered an advanced solution for a fully automated cold storage facility of Newcold at Dinteloord, this time in collaboration with D&F Techniek. The challenge was significant: achieving complete control over external humidity and temperature influences within a compact volume of 22 loading docks. Without a targeted approach, this would inevitably lead to fog formation, snow, and ice—along with the associated operational and energy-related consequences.
With Masterveil’s proven “Protect & Dry concept”, this issue was structurally resolved. By creating a controlled transition zone between the outdoor and indoor climate, moisture infiltration is effectively prevented. This results in stable conditions that are essential for the optimal performance of an automated warehouse.
Results One Year After Completion
One year after completion, the evaluation confirms the success of this approach. The environment remains crystal clear and spotless: no ice formation, no snow accumulation, and no condensation issues. This directly translates into higher reliability of the fully automated system and reduced maintenance requirements.
In addition, significant energy savings have been achieved. By eliminating unwanted moisture and airflows, the refrigeration system operates more efficiently. This reduces energy consumption and lowers operational costs. Furthermore, several technical optimizations at the loading dock itself have immediately improved the overall efficiency of the installation.
